Quick overview:
Many Windows users like to arrange icons on the desktop in a certain order:
Multimedia applications
System icons/tools
Temporary files for quick access
Working toole
Office applications
However, some full-screen applications (games...) or switching to other display devices, for example, cause the icons to shift. If, for example, we switch to the projector (Liesegang Solid Cinema), the resolution is reduced and the icons are compressed into the relatively small space available.
When the resolution is increased, the icons remain in exactly this position and you have to laboriously rearrange them. This manual correction and positioning of the icons takes time and has to be carried out every time the resolution is changed, the display device is changed, or the application crashes or goes full screen. The Desktop Icon Manager takes care of you and makes the changes automatically. It saves the arrangement of the icons on the desktop and restores them with a click of the mouse...
1. Download the Desktop Icon Manager and start the application. Click on Agree/OK/OK/OK to accept the license terms and create a standard profile.
2. Now arrange the icons on your desktop as you wish. Then right-click on the imaginary desktop within the DIManager and select Refresh.
3. Now click on Save/Save to profile... and enter a name such as Symbol arrangement for monitor. After changing the resolution, click on Arrange/Arrange profile... and double-click on a saved profile.
You can thus create a series of profiles with different icon positions, which will save you the tedious work in future.
