Quick overview:
In Windows 98, you can use Windows Explorer to view a small thumbnail of an image without having it open. However, if you have installed an image editing program such as PhotoShop or PhotoImpact, this feature is deactivated and the files are only reserved for these applications. This is how you can reclaim your thumbnail view:
1. In the start menu, click on Executionlead and type the command regsvr32.exe /i shdocvw.dll in. If you have already installed Internet Explorer versions 5.0, 5.5 or even 6.0, you must use a different command. For versions 4, the above command is sufficient, which you confirm with Enter. For higher numbers, continue with 2.
2. Navigate as described above to the Executionlead menu and this time enter regsvr32.exe /i shdoc401.dll.
After a restart, everything is displayed again in the usual order.
