Quick overview:
Immediately after you have completed the installation, it is highly recommended that you run the two disk maintenance programs ScanDisk and Defragmenter to ensure stability and speed. The former checks your hard disk thoroughly and thus prevents subsequent data loss.
The next one lines up the data on the Hard disk so that they can be read faster and more efficiently.
Start ScanDisk - the safety of the disk comes first
1. click in succession on Start > Programs > Accessories > System programs and select the entry from the list that appears ScanDisk out.
2. after the program has started you must click on Correct errors automatically click and then Expanded... open. In this window, set everything exactly as described in the following screenshot:
3. click on OK and then to Start lets the program do its work.
Order and speed through hard disk defragmentation
1. in the start menu, click again on System programs and this time select the entry Defragmentation.
2. under Settings you should deactivate the option to check the data carrier and then you can start with OK go off.
3. this may take a while and I advise you not to do anything else on your PC during this time.
Once the process is complete, click on Start > Exit > Restart and let Windows reload.
