Laut Ryan Price lässt sich der Fehler über die Kommandozeile sehr leicht reproduzieren. Sobald man über die Windows-Eingabeaufforderung das Tool “CHKDSK” in Verbindung mit dem Parameter “/r” (Automatische Fehlerreparatur) aufruft und einen Scan aller Partitionen startet kann man im Task-Manager beobachten, wie das CHKDSK immer mehr Speicher belegt und Windows letztendlich zum Absturz bringt.
Microsoft selbst hat sich zu diesem Problem bislang nicht geäußert.
