Quick overview:
Microsoft wants to make the new service pack available for download using a web installer. The advantage of this is that it is no longer necessary to download the complete installation file, but only the components that are currently required. The installer is expected to be around 65 MB in size and already contains the basic functions and updates for an average home computer.
For networks (Windows Vista Business and Ultimate), Microsoft is offering an update of around 550 MB. This version is available in five languages and contains all updates that have been released for Windows Vista to date.
Business customers have the option of purchasing a so-called Slipstream version. This integrates Service Pack 1 into the Windows installation. A version for home users will follow later.
