Quick overview:
Wndows 7 defragments the hard disk automatically (by default) every Wednesday. However, if this is carried out in battery mode, this can lead to a noticeable deterioration in battery performance. After all, the read and write head of the hard disk has to jump back and forth. That eats up battery power!
Windows-Tweaks recommends: Defragment the hard disk manually and switch off automation. This is how it works:
1. click on the start button, on "All programs", on "Accessories" and then on "Defragmentation".
2. to switch off automatic defragmentation, simply click on the "Configure schedule" entry and uncheck the "Run on schedule (recommended)" entry. Then click on "OK".
That's it! This means that the battery is no longer charged.
Sincerely,
Sandro Villinger
