Quick overview:
The Vista installation is finally complete, but you get a blue screen when rebooting? We show you possible causes and how you can fix this error!

If you receive an error message of this type after installation:
STOP 0x0000000A (Parameter1, Parameter2, Parameter3, Parameter4)
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
then you have fallen victim to an insidious bug in Windows Vista that affects all versions. Microsoft itself deals with this bug here.
There are several factors that can cause this problem:
- The computer is equipped with more than 3 GB of RAM
- The computer uses a storage system running a Storport miniport driver
- The PC has a controller that uses 32-bit Direct Memory Access (DMA).
You now have several options for solving the problem:
Install the patch with hotfix number KB929777. Make sure that you are using the correct version for your platform!
You will find the 32-bit version here and the 64-bit version here. Alternatively, you can also use Windows Update.
If you no longer have access to the operating system at all, try to reload the setup program after restarting the PC and reinstall Windows Vista.
If you are a happy user with more than 3GB of RAM, temporarily remove a bar. If you have now reduced the size of the RAM, call up the setup routine again and reinstall Windows Vista.
