Find out the serial number (product key) for Windows XP/Vista/7 and Office 2003/2007/2010.

The following question is - quite rightly - one of the most frequent support requests:

"I want to reinstall Windows: How do I find my serial number for XP/Vista/7 and Office 2003/2007/2010?"

When reinstalling or moving, there is hardly anything more annoying than searching for serial numbers. Windows-Tweaks shows you how to display and securely store Windows and Office product keys in no time at all. This is how it works:

1. Click on the link here to download WinKeyFinder 1.74 (Beta) to your hard disk. Unzip the file and double-click on the "WinKeyFinder174.exe" contained in the archive.

3. When you click on "MS Office", you should also see the key for your Office edition. This worked perfectly for the 2003 and 2007 versions in the test, but not without exception for Office 2010 on all test devices.
