Quick overview:
Windows 10 users can use a trick to activate GodMode - just like in previous versions. This bundles all system settings in just one folder. This is extremely practical for admins, but poses risks for beginners. How exactly does it work?
Instructions: How to activate Windows 10 GodMode
Sometimes it's called God Mode, sometimes GodMode: this refers to the secret menu for all Control Panel entries, which can also be unlocked in Windows 10.
Once activated, the user no longer has to laboriously click through the many menu levels of the control panel in search of a particular setting.
And this is how the Windows 10 GodMode is activated:
- Right-click on a free space on the desktop and select "New" and then "Folder" in the context menu.
- Right-click on the newly created folder and select "Rename" in the context menu
- Rename the folder to: „GottModus.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}“ (ohne Anführungszeichen)
The displayed name of the new folder is now "GodMode" (corresponding to the word before the ".{" characters. The folder icon has also changed.
If you click on it, you can access the complete task list from the Control Panel menu. On the one hand, this makes it easier to find settings, but on the other hand it also harbors risks for the unsuspecting: some settings have a deep impact on Windows 10 and, in the worst case, can paralyze the entire system!
Where does the term "Godmode" come from?
The Microsoft developers had already built GodMode into Windows 7, probably to be able to access all Windows settings particularly quickly via this unofficial feature, which is not documented anywhere.
However, the name "GodMode" was probably given to the secret function by the Windows user community. This term originally comes from the gaming scene. In many video games, the developers have hidden codes that can be used to make the game character immortal. These cheats usually help to test the games, but are often also included in the final versions and can be unlocked by users.

Exciting and helpful. Can this step be undone, for example by simply deleting it, if the device is to be passed on? Thank you
