Quick overview:
Acer Iconia tablet PCs belong in every Windows tablet test: Whether W510, W511 or W700 - shey are all particularly popular Windows 8 tablets. This is because they have fully-fledged operating systems, optional Keyboard docks and up to 18 hours of battery life. Our test comparison shows how the Acer Iconia tablets fare in test reviews.
Acer Iconia W700-53334G12as 29.5 cm (11.6 inch) in test comparison: Huge 12 inch Windows tablet PC
The Acer Iconia W700 Windows tablet measures exactly 11.6 inches, making the display just under 12 inches. This is an enormous size for a tablet PC, and it shows: The Taiwanese computer manufacturer appeals to users who expect far more from their tablet than just surfing the web here and there and watching a few videos in between.
The processor and RAM of the Acer W700 also outperform the tablet competition: The Intel Core i5 with 1.8 GHz and the 4 gigabytes of RAM effortlessly run numerous applications in parallel. They allow you to work comfortably and quickly - just like on a really powerful notebook.
Very important for the purchase decision: The Acer Iconia W700 offers a full Windows 8 operating system - not the RT version, which only runs apps. Classic Windows software can therefore be installed. The P models (W700P) even run Windows 8 Pro.
In every tablet test, the battery life is a knock-out criterion: in our practical experience, the Acer W700 Tablet PC has a battery life of six hours or more. Decent for a tablet - and very commendable, considering the processor performance on offer here.

Acer Iconia W511-27602G06iss 25.7 cm (10.1 inch) in a test comparison: An 18-hour Windows tablet
With the Acer Iconia W511, Acer offers a Windows tablet with normal performance. The tablet still measures 10.1 inches and even comes with an optional attachable keyboard.
And it costs just half the price of the W700 - around 500 euros without the keyboard.
But the 200 euros for the keyboard dock are worth it: this Acer Tablet PC works for up to 18 hours without a cable thanks to the integrated additional battery. Record-breaking!
With 1.3 GHz processing power and 1 GB RAM, this Iconia model is suitable for real tablet users who primarily want to surf the Internet, watch movies and listen to music with their Windows tablet.
Smaller applications run smoothly on the side. The apps can be installed via the Windows Store. Windows 8 follows the app trend - even if the Android Market and Apple Store are even fuller.
Android tablet owners can use the WATCHEVER app to bring an online video library to their device. And like this users can also use WATCHEVER on the iPad - but you'll have to wait a while before this app and many others are available on Windows 8. (Note: 130,000 apps are currently available there).
The performance values of the Acer W511 Tablet are comparable with netbooks from the manufacturer's portfolio. Despite a rather modest working memory, the Acer W511 Tablet PC impresses in the practical test with an appealing working speed and a powerful battery.
Users of the W511 cite the highly reflective and moderate sensory sensitivity of the touchscreen as minor disadvantages, while the excellent price-performance ratio is praised across the board.
Acer Iconia W510-27602G06ass 25.7 cm (10.1 inch) in test comparison: Affordable Windows 8 tablet for beginners
Compared to the Windows tablets mentioned above, the Acer Iconia W510 was released back in 2011 and can be seen as a prototype for many further developments from Acer.
In comparison, the Acer Iconia W510 is the least powerful model with a 1.0 GHz processor from NVIDIA, 1 GB RAM and a 32 GB hard disk. Like the W511, it runs Windows 8 (Core), the standard Windows version. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are offered for connectivity. The battery life is specified by the manufacturer as a maximum of six hours.
With the performance values mentioned, the W510 presents itself as a real netbook alternative, which also enables simple operation via the touchscreen. In contrast to the W510, the main difference is the lower processor performance, which also results in a noticeably lower purchase price.
Which Windows tablet: Acer W700? Acer W511? Acer W510?
The Acer W510 and W511 models come as classic tablets - but allow you to dock a keyboard. They are more mobile alternatives to netbooks or more powerful alternatives to smartphones. The high-quality Acer Iconia W700 is larger - and can be used both as a mobile device and as an everyday computer. And the three devices have one thing in common: no major flaws were found in any of the tests.
