Quick overview:
The Windows XP logo appears every time Windows is started. As this is not only a kind of advertisement but also delays the Windows startup by approx. one second, you can safely switch off this annoying image. Proceed as follows:
Instructions for deactivating the Windows XP logo
1. Open the workstation and click in the bar on Extras > Folder options > View and remove the checkmark in front of Hide protected system files (recommended). Confirm the message with OK.
2. Now move the scroll bar further down and activate the option AShow all files and folders. Click on OK. Now double-click on drive C:\ (or on the drive where your Windows is installed) and open the file Boot.ini. Now search for the line (it may differ slightly from this one):
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINXP="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect
Carry them behind the /fastdetect the parameter /noguiboat in. Save the file and restart. After a restart, the boot logo will no longer appear.
3. You can also access the Boot.iniby clicking on Start/Execute click and here msconfig enter. Switch to the Boot.ini tab and select your Windows XP entry. As soon as you have clicked on /noguiboot and OK, the boot logo has disappeared.
Note: As soon as this tip is applied, boot applications such as CheckDsk, PartitionMagic, Diskeeper, O&O Defrag and others will no longer be able to display their status messages.
