Quick overview:
Despite the detailed view of the Task Manager, which you can access by pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL, many users expect more information about which services, programs and system files are currently running, which not only serves to improve performance by removing them, but also helps to narrow down and solve problems.
So if you want to look behind the facades of Windows, the Process Explorer will help you, which you can download from this link.
The Process Explorer presents all started applications and which DLL files are used in a clear list. It also clearly distinguishes (in color if desired) the system's own processes (e.g. services) from the applications started by the user (programs such as Media Player, Internet Explorer, etc.).
If you are no longer sure what is behind an unknown process such as alg.exe, BTTray.exe etc. or would like to find out, you can also visit Reger24, which has a huge selection of most known processes. Also Google.de often provides excellent results if you enter the process in question together with the .exe attachment. This is important for detecting and eliminating resource wasters, viruses, Trojans or dialers.
