Especially with Modemowners, every time they dial in, a sense of gloom spreads. Unfortunately, due to the fact that analog technology is no longer available, there is no particular hope for lightning-fast dial-up in the sense of ISDN/DSL. However, you can save a few seconds with a little trick. Using a special initialization command, you can set the dial-up speed to 50ms per tone signal, which is the absolute maximum for conventional modems. You can also try going down to 40 or even 30 - if it works, that speaks for the quality of your device!
1. Click with the right mouse button on Workplace and select Properties.
2. In this new window, call up the tab Geräte manager to the front.
3. Click on the + Sign before Modem and select the entry for your modem by double-clicking on it. 
4. A new window suddenly appears in which you can select the tab Connection to select it. Now you need to click on the Extended click and lower Further settings the command S11=50 enter.
As already indicated above, a smaller number also means faster dial-up. You can test it once with 40 or 30 try! If your Internet no longer works, you can always upgrade.
