Quick overview:
Windows records certain actions for later analysis (e.g. in the event of errors). These include crashes, hardware and software installations and changes to the system configuration. This logging requires a relatively large amount of system resources and should not be necessary for most people anyway. The function permanently writes to the Hard disk and fragments it after a while. To send the entire logging to the desert, proceed as follows:
1. Click in succession on Start > Execute and tap to open the Windows Registry Editor regedit in.
2. Now navigate through the keys HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\WBEM\CIMOM and double-click in the right-hand pane on EnableEvents. Replace the existing 1 through a 0 from.
3. Now click twice on the next value named Logging and change it as above to 0.
4. The next value to be exchanged is called Backup Interval Thresholdwhich you can best find on 100. This is the time interval in minutes at which the time is automatically recorded.
Now that you have restarted, you are free from the burden of logging. However, please have a look in the folder C\WINDOWS\system32\WBEM\Logs\ and delete its contents.
